The Metaverse Republic

Welcome everybody to the public space of the Metaverse Republic We set up this website for the purpose of informing anybody who is interested in the Metaverse Republic, and to have the users’ feedback on what we are doing.

The Metaverse Republic will be a legal system for Second Life, with real powers of enforcement originating in user-created tools, and a democratic parliament. Our aim is to be able to offer a fair and effective system to solve the disputes in Second Life, and eventually, other virtual worlds.

For that purpose, we are going to draft a constitution, based on the Founding Charter that has been drafted in the last month by our Constitutional Team. To better explain what the system is going to look like, for those who are not willing to read the long yet complete pages of the Founding Charter, we wrote an Executive Summary which in 3 pages summarizes the main points of our system. We encourage you to read the Founding Charter as a whole, to understand what the Constitution will be. This is especially recommended for those of you who would like to join us. We are happy to announce that we are recruiting for the three teams which currently constitute the foundation of the Metaverse Republic. These are: the Constitutional Team, headed by Ashcroft Burnham; the Management Team, headed by Mondrian Lykin; and the Technical Team, headed by Kristy Laval. For the Constitutional Team and the Management team, you can also contact Michel Manen, who is part of both teams.
